Eric Walter Nixon, born on October 4, 1962, is an English former professional footballer who primarily played as a goalkeeper. Nixon had a career that spanned 22 years, during which he played for thirteen different clubs. Notably, he spent thirteen years at Tranmere Rovers. He joined Tranmere Rovers permanently in July 1988 and went on to make 432 appearances for the club, including 333 league appearances over nine years. Nixon played a pivotal role in Tranmere Rovers' rise from the 4th Division. He retired from professional football in 2004 after making over 500 league appearances throughout his career.
